A Day in the Life at The Ranch in the Oaks
The Ranch in the Oaks provides guests with the structure they need to foster recovery while also allowing each guest creative outlets and the opportunity to build community.
Daily Activities
Early morning group meditation is held outside under the trees or in the great room.
Each day one of the following is offered
- Yoga
- Boot camp/outdoor training
- Gardening
- Horse care & experience
- Studio art
- Culinary classes
Guests may also make activity requests based on their interests.
A minimum of four hours per day is private, free time. The only requirement during this period is you must be productive. This includes attending to current work responsibilities, pursuing a new job opportunity, volunteering in the community, or attending daytime 12-Step meetings.
We provide a schedule of 12-Step meetings in the surrounding area and encourage a minimum of one meeting per day. While guests can bring their own vehicles, The Ranch offers a passenger van to take guests to 12-Step meetings each night.
Groceries are delivered regularly, and our guests prepare meals as a group. Special dietary needs will be discussed before arrival.
Housekeeping comes every other week; however, guests have daily shared duties to keep the house running smoothly. Each guest is accountable for cleaning up after themselves and keeping their rooms tidy.
Weekly Activities
Twice a month, a group accountability meeting is held in the house to encourage each other in a loving and supportive way. Guests share their goals, victories, challenges, and growth.
Each week, a Step Study or Big Book meeting is offered at the Ranch. Sober women outside of the home are invited to come and participate in the weekly meetings.
We partner with, and can refer to, several highly-rated therapists, counseling groups and Intensive Outpatient Programs in Argyle and neighboring communities. Therapy and IOP work is encouraged.
